Ecclesiastes 7:9 Do not be quick to anger, for anger lodges in the bosom of fools.

The book of Ecclesiastes (written by King Solomon) is of a genre called wisdom literature. I am not wise. I have never stayed in a Holiday Express. However, I am wise to the fact anger can, and has at times gotten the best of me.

Who are you angry at? Is it ok to be angry? Jesus flipped tables and verbally scolded so-called religious know-it-alls. That was the human side of Jesus. The divine side of our long haired 1st century hippy did not anger so quickly. The key word being…quickly. That does not mean we are to stew a while before vomiting our anger burdened selves on ourselves, or someone else. Because that after all would be, human. But, having been created in the image of God, know that you are divine, holy, of loftier origins, of greater beginnings than hate, anger and so on.

So, take a moment. When you want to cuss out and flip the bird…or shake the snot out of…beat the piss out of…talk trash about…hold a grudge towards…devalue yourself, maybe the answer is to get holy for a moment. For you, for them, for Christ’s sake. Pray. Get and feel holy…at least for a moment, you human you. Love you guys!
